Our mission is to educate and preserve the political, fiscal, and operational integrity of SPDs as created by either special legislation of the South Carolina General Assembly or the general laws of the State of South Carolina and to inform the public, other public officials, lawmakers and legislators about functions, duties, responsibilities of and problems facing SPDs. The association will devote itself to:
  • the improvement of the coordination and communication between SPDs and other governments
  • improving the performance of SPDs
  • fostering education of the staff and governing bodies of SPDs
  • working towards the achievement of other common goals of SPDs
